Spring & Summer in the Alps
8 day special programme for carving holidays
April 24th to May 2nd, July 17th to 25th 2010
Spend a holiday in the breathtaking Tyrolean Alps and combine a 5 day intensive carving course with 2, one day accompanied tours to places of special interest for wood carvers.
Saturday: Fly to Munich, possibly, together with one of our representatives or they will meet you at Munich airport. (Please check with the school before booking your flights to ensure that everyone arrives at approximately the same time, usually just before lunch) From the Airport we go to the Carving School in Elbigenalp. First meeting at the school is at 6:00 pm.
Sunday and Monday: Two full days of carving – Class starts at 8:30 am. Choose a model from our large collection or use projects you have brought with you. There are about eight students in each class and the tutors are all very experienced master woodcarvers. Choose your carving theme – see page 2.
Tuesday: Tour to the Stubai Tool Factory and Innsbruck.
A visit to Fulpmes where the world famous Stubai carving chisels are made. Here you will see the chisels being produced by a few skilled artisans and be able to see each stage of the production process. Next stop is Innsbruck first we visit the new ski jump on the “Berg Isel” after that we continue to the old town to see the famous “Golden Roof” and visit the “Court Church” where the cenotaph of Emperor Maximilian can be viewed. This monumental tomb is flanked by 28 beautiful larger than life bronze statues.
Wednesday: Full day carving class – continue your project, from 8:30 until 18:00.
Thursday: We drive along the mysterious Lake Plansee to the hunting castle “Linderhof” of King Ludwig. Here we will look at the beautiful garden and wonderful little castle. Next stop is Oberammergau the most famous woodcarving centre of Germany. Time to visit the woodcarving shops of the town and have lunch. We then continue to Füssen where King Ludwig’s most famous and spectacular castle “Neu Schwanstein” is located. Please notice that only one castle will be visited.
Friday and Saturday: Time to finish your project or to start a new one. You still have plenty of time to get more tuition before returning home.
Sunday: Back to Munich Airport, after a week full of new ideas and impressions in a friendly homely atmosphere with good food and new carving friends.
Included in the package is: transfer from/to the airport, 5 days carving course, 2 days accompanied touring and entrance fees, 8 overnights with full board (lunch is not provided on the tours) and all taxes.

For non-carvers accompanying: same arrangements as above except the carving course. There are plenty of other things to do, nordic walking, hiking, cycling or enjoy some spa treatments at the local Hotel.

Please note that for all prices mentioned the EURO is basis of calculation! For all payments the exchange rate of the day will be used. For calculation example in this folder we have used the following rates: 1 Euro = 1,40 USD, 1 Euro = 0,80 GBP
