Content: The participants cast small solid-bronze figures and learn all the steps of the wax-melting technique. First, they make a wax model that they will use for shaping and firing the negative form. It is followed by the exciting moment of pouring the liquid bronze into the form. The last stage of the work is the finalising of the figure, through the process of filing, cleaning and polishing.
Important Information: Bring working clothes (apron, dust mask, protection glasses) and if possible, the following tools: angle grinder, brass brush, small stone carving chisel and hammer.
Two school days will take place in the foundry (45 minutes from school), where we will cast the figures. Extra costs: bronze approximately € 3/kg, wax, gypsum etc. will be charged on wholesale price.
