Language difficulties? Don’t worry! Our classes are always bilingual. Most weeks English-speaking students attend classes. In addition we have several special weeks during 2010, with an emphasis on English-speaking participants. Traditionally many English and American carvers return year after year to attend courses.
Woodcarving
1 week, 43,5 hours Option A
We offer instruction in all aspects of woodcarving, from beginners to advanced students. You will be encouraged to either copy a carving from the 500 pieces at the School or you can practice your own ideas according to your individual interest and ability. You may choose to work from a block or a rough-out and your tutor will help you to obtain a good result.

All through the year we also offer the opportunity to attend a sculpting course. You have the chance to work in wood, stone and clay during one week. The course is adapted for both beginners and advanced participants. If you prefer to concentrate on one material only – why don’t you choose one of our special courses in stone or clay.

Antique painting and gilding
1 Week, 43,5 hours Option C
Learn how to gild and paint figures and carvings the classic way. The gilding involves 26 operations and you will be taken through these, step by step. This is a learning process, you will usually finish one piece of normal size by the end of the week… Our intention is that you will be trained to be able to continue working on your own at home.

Wood Turning
1 Week, 43,5 hours Option D
Many weeks in 2010 we offer wood turning courses. There are different themes to choose from. Some are: spindle turning, turning in wet wood, hollow turning and many more. Learn new techniques, try new tools and develop your skills.
Why not try something new or combine a carving and a turning course? Please ask for details.

All courses are the same price, except some of the sculpting courses and the painting and woodturning courses which have a small fee added.
Please note that for all prices mentioned the EURO is basis of calculation! For all payments the exchange rate of the day will be used. For calculation example in this folder we have used the following rates: 1 Euro = 1,40 USD, 1 Euro = 0,80 GBP
Transportation: Munich Airport – Elbigenalp – Munich Airport, Munich, the transfer prices range between 90,- and 220,- €uro depending on how many individuals arrive or leave at the same time. We recommend you to arrive at the airport before lunch and depart after noon.
Arrival and Departure days are Saturdays and Sundays – other dates upon request.
Courses: Meeting on Sunday evening at 6 pm. Courses start Monday morning and end Saturday at noon. Classes run from 08:30 to 12:00 and from 13:30 to 18:00 including coffee break.
Early booking of the courses and the guesthouse is strongly recommended since the school’s policy is “First come – first served”!!
Please Remember – Spouses are very welcome!
You can bring your spouse or partner to the school even though they are not taking part in the courses, as all are welcome. There are opportunities to go Nordic Walking, cycling, swimming and take spa treatments in the local hotel or just enjoy the beautiful scenery. So don’t stay away because you think there will be “nothing for me to do”. The staff of the comfortable guesthouse and the restaurant will also do everything it can to make your stay an enjoyable one!
